The YS-01 Solis is a new compact-type slave strobe that can be used for all applications from wide-angle to macro photography. Circular beam angle of 100°x100° and guide number of up to 20.

You can fully exercise your creativity with the YS-01, which can be used as a primary strobe or secondary strobe in a wide range of applications, from compact digital cameras to digital SLR cameras.

An external flash is your most important accessory. The ocean is one big, blue filter. As you descend, the reds and oranges quickly become muted shades of blue and gray. Using a color corrected strobe light will bring back your subject's natural color.

Overview

The Sea & Sea YS-01 is a compact slave strobe that can be used for wide-angle or macro photography. With its circular beam angle of 100 x 100° and a guide number of up to 20 it is the perfect strobe for small Point & Shoot cameras or DSLRs. The DS-TTL (Digital Slave TTL) feature gives you automatic exposure control when shooting in slave mode. It is best to connect the strobe to the housing with a fiber optic cable. For finer lighting control it is best to shoot in manual mode. This is easy since the YS-01 has a ten-level power dial located on the back of the strobe.

You can switch between DS-TTL (Digital Slave TTL) and a ten-level manual control function, to enable fine adjustment of the light level according to the photographer's intentions. You can also set up a lighting system that uses two strobes in DS-TTL mode. Power comes from four AA batteries for a powerful and long-lasting strobe. You can enjoy taking pictures all day long without having to recharge the batteries.

The recycle time takes about two seconds with nickel-metal hydride batteries (2700 mAh) for stress-free continuous shooting. The YS-01 is furnished with a high-luminance white LED target light (1W) indicating the optical axis of the strobe attached to its front face that is effective for night diving.

The YS-01 is powered by 4-AA batteries. You can get up to 330 flashes at full power with NiMH batteries. With NiMH batteries you will get a blazing fast 1.9 second recycle time, so you will not miss all the action on the reef. The YS-01 has a bright 1W LED target light, that is bright enough to use as a dive light on night dives.

Warranty

Sea&Sea provides a limited warranty to the original purchaser against all defects in original workmanship and material under normal SCUBA use and service as outlined in the owner's manual for 1 year from the date of purchase, with the following exceptions:

This warranty does not cover commercial or rental use.
Should your equipment prove to be defective for any reason (other than those listed in the limitations section below) it will be repaired or replaced at Sea&Sea´s discretion, free of charge, excluding shipping and handling charges.
Repairs made under this warranty will not extend the warranty period
This warranty is non-transferable and applies to the original purchaser only.
All correspondence concerning this warranty must be accompanied by a copy of the original sales receipt.
Any flood or damage, for any reason, that is caused from flooding an O-ring sealed or water tight area will not be covered under warranty. All O-ring sealed products undergo extensive factory pressure testing before being shipped and delivered and are therefore guaranteed to be sealed and functioning when shipped from the factory.
Sea&Sea nor ADITECH will not be liable for any loss, damages, or expenses including incidental or consequential damages directly or indirectly arising from the sale or use of the product.
Sea&Sea accepts no liability for any loss of captured images or the inability to capture images even if it is due to the malfunctioning or leakage of the housing.
All paint finishing, cosmetic discoloration of surfaces, powder coating, or material stitching that is chipped, damaged, or unthreaded through customer use is not covered in the warranty.
Sea&Sea does not warranty any product for aesthetic finishes. Issues with surface finish that do not affect function of the product are not covered under warranty.
This warranty does not apply and may be rendered completely void in the event of accidental damage, abuse, batteries´ electrolyte spillage, overcharging of battery, flooding due to neglect, tampering, lack of care and maintenance, improper storage, or unauthorized service.
This warranty specifically excludes lenses, cords, connectors, O-rings, or other conditions resulting from misuse and negligence.
This warranty becomes void if the housing components are damaged by anything other than normal recreational diving use.
Modifications or repair by anyone other than an authorized Sea&Sea Dealer or ADITECH Service Department will void the warranty.
By purchasing this product you agree and understand that in no event will Sea&Sea, its distributors or retailers, be held liable for any personal injuries resulting from its operation, or any other damage whether direct, indirect, incidental or consequential, even if Sea&Sea or ADITECH is advised of such damages.
