Overview & Features
Despite its small size and search head this small and most simple to use underwater metal detector offers an impressive detection performance and an high resolution of small metal objects buried closely to each other. The UWM 30 detects ferrous and non-ferrous metal and alloys. The limits of detection range depend on the size, distance and kind of metal object to be detected. Small objects such as coins may be detected up to 25 cm distance while large objects can be located at correspondingly larger distance.

General Overview
The SECON UWM 30 with its oval fully-fledged search head adds
to the range of SECON underwater metal detectors a particularly
cost-favourable, easy to use and precise PI detector. It is intended for
use in the hobby sector and also in professional fields of application.
The UWM 30 is based on technical features of EBINGER detectors that are
in use on every continent. The UWM 30 is used primarily for the
detection of small and medium-size metal objects which the diver can
recover without great effort. The detector detects ferrous and
non-ferrous metals including gold and silver. Thanks to its circular
search head, the UW scanner offers a larger detection range than the
UWPP 10 with its rod-type sensor. The range within which metal objects
may be detected depends on their size, location and material as well as
also on the conditions for detection.
Mode of operation
The UWM 30 underwater hand sensor applies a microprocessor controlled
pulse-induction process (PI). Weak magnetic pulses generate eddy
currents in the objects being searched for; these retroact on the sensor
as a magnetic echo. This response signal is converted electronically
into a vibration alarm. The digital PI system permits the detector to be
used in both, freshwater and saltwater. As a result of the static mode
of detection, deductions can be made on the size and depth of the
detected metallic items.
Constructional features
The UWM 30 is a battery operated, pressure waterproof metal detector for underwater use. It consists of a single sided headset and a search head flanged to the detector handle with builtin electronics and battery compartment. The detector is put into operation by rotation of the handle against the search head. Sensitivity can be adjusted by means of the sensitivity adjustment ring even when wearing diving gloves. The pressure waterproof headset provides the alarm. The device gives clear vibration signals, which allow conclusions on targets size and distance due to the change in alarm frequency and intensity. The spring clip and the rubber ear shell can be dismantled from the headset to suit an operation with a dry diving suit.

Warranty
SECON provides a limited warranty to the original
purchaser against all defects in original workmanship and material
under normal SCUBA use and service as outlined in the owner's manual
for
1 year from the date of purchase, with the following exceptions and conditions:
- This warranty does not cover rental use.
- Should
your equipment prove to be defective for any reason (other than
those listed in the limitations section below) it will be repaired or
replaced at SECON´s discretion, free of charge, excluding shipping and handling charges.
- Repairs made under this warranty will not extend the warranty period
- This warranty is non-transferable and applies to the original purchaser only.
- All correspondence concerning this warranty must be accompanied by a copy of the original sales receipt.
- Any
flood or damage, for any reason, that is caused from flooding an O-ring
sealed or water tight area will not be covered under warranty. All
O-ring sealed products undergo extensive factory pressure testing before
being shipped and delivered and are therefore guaranteed to be sealed
and functioning when shipped from the factory.
- SECON will not be liable for any loss, damages, or expenses including
incidental or consequential damages directly or indirectly arising from
the sale or use of the product.
- All paint finishing, cosmetic
discoloration of surfaces, powder coating, or material stitching that is
chipped, damaged, or unthreaded through customer use is not covered in
the warranty.
- SECON does not warranty any product for
aesthetic finishes. Issues with surface finish that do not affect
function of the product are not covered under warranty.
- This
warranty does not apply and may be rendered completely void in the event
of accidental damage, abuse, overcharging of battery, flooding due to
neglect, tampering, lack of care and maintenance, improper storage, or
unauthorized service.
